148. Peter Frey was born on 7 Aug 1668 in Botenheim, Württemberg, Germany. He died on 17 Feb 1733 in Germany. He married Anna Magdalena Bühler [26 November, 1668- 13 November, 1747] in 1690 in the town of Botenheim. Their only known child Johann Martin was born in 1699. There may have been other children since mother Anna was quite young [age 31] at the birth time of Johann Martin.

Peter Frey is recorded as being a Burger/citizen of Botenheim, as well as a farmer there. He is also listed as a "Burgermeister/Gemeindepfleger", which translates to being a master citizen/community caretaker. There are two more ancestors of this Peter Frey, both of whom have the given name of Peter Frey. The Frey family name is recorded as far back as c1600. [2]

For an unknown reason, their son Johann was entered in the birth records as Fre(y)i; this could be a desire to change the name [Johann's only recorded child is listed as Susanna Barbara FREI], or a mistaken spelling by the official recorder. Susanna was born 27 years before the death of her grandfather Peter Frei, so it is difficult to understand the spelling change.

Anna Magdalena Bühler is the sister of Anna Rosina Bühler [ 21 February, 1667- 22 February, 1741].
